Star Citizen Alpha 3.22 Release is Amazing

Star Citizen Alpha 3.22 patch released yesterday on 12/14/2023 and it includes several new ships and a lot of new features and bug fixes. There is no better time to get in the game than right now so get off the fence and become a citizen today.

Star Citizen Alpha 3.22 Release

The tagline for this release is “Wrecks to Riches” which would lead you to believe that this is related to salvage mechanics which it is BUT there’s so much more in this update patch. Let’s breakdown everything that was included in this release.

Structural Salvage Gameplay

The salvage ships, which are the Drake Vulture and Aegis Reclaimer, can completely breakdown ship wrecks into materials that can be sold at the major cities Lorville, Orison, Area 18, and New Babbage.

New Derelict Settlement Locations

CIG has added 15 new and unique settlements across the Stanton system for citizens to discover. Some of these are abandoned, some are local commerce hubs, and some are inhabited by Stantons gangs who will shoot first and ask questions later. There are plans to add even more settlements in the future.

New Character Hairstyles from SQ42

This might not sound like a big thing at first BUT these new hairstyles look amazing and really help in making your character look unique. Star Citizen Alpha 3.22 pulled these new hairstyles over from Squadron 42, the single-player game coming soon, and look amazing. Next year, CIG is planning on releasing an entirely new character creation process with even more customizations and features.

Jumptown Global Event in Star Citizen Alpha 3.22

This patch has added a new reworked Jumptown event with ways to fight citizens on the existing Jumptown locations AND they have added a new facility on an island in the Hurston region. You can get your share of the money on 12/22/2023.

Personal Cargo Containers

Citizens can now purchase containers from the cargo decks around the Stanton system that allow you to store your gear in and take it on your ship with you. This is something that citizens have desired for a long time.

Arena Commander Update

There are new racetracks, arenas, maps, and modes for the Arena Commander fans. Some of these are time-limited so be sure to get after these before they disappear.

Brand New Ships and Vehicle

  • Aopoa San’tok.yai: this is a medium fighter that has a unique alien design, shielding, and thruster tech. This fighter ship can go toe-to-toe with anything. It’s really a great looking ship.
  • Drake Cutter Rambler: this makes the third Cutter ship that’s been released as we already have the Cutter and Cutter Scout. This new Cutter is made for solo pilot exploration as it has improved habitation and larger fuel tanks. The Cutter ships are all highly recommended starter ships to get into Star Citizen.
  • Origin X1 Series Vehicles: the Origin land speeders have finally released and they are amazing in looks and performance. There is the X1 which is the base model, the Xl Force which has weapons on it, and the X1 Velocity which is built for racing.

Lastly, Star Citizen Luminalia 2023 is still going strong and you should be collecting your rewards from the Advent Calender each day.

That wraps up the highlights of the Star Citizen Alpha 3.22 release patch (click link for full patch notes) BUT there have also been bug fixes and increased stability in the game servers as well. Bunker enemies are no longer stuck in falls or falling through floors, enemy ships not spawning in unless the player was 12km away, citizen ships randomly disappearing and stranding players during quantum travel, fixing the “replace me balls” around the system, and many more fixes.
